St Ives Rugby Club 2013

Juniors Season Information

Welcome to St Ives Junior Rugby Union for the 2013 Season.

This information sheet should be used in conjunction with the Key Season Date calendar.

TRAINING:

Training will start in the week commencing 5^th – 7^th March and times are as follows:

Mini’s U6, U7, U8, U9 - training on Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm

U10, U11, U12 - train on Tuesday nights from 6-7pm

U13, U14, U15, U16 - train on Wednesday nights from 6pm (see your team Coach)

U17, U18 - train on Thursday nights from 6:45pm

Training will go ahead unless the oval is closed or advised otherwise by your team Coach or Manager.

You can check the club website www.stivesrugby.com.au which will be updated on a daily basis by 3pm for the oval status.

Please note that football boots are not worn to training during March.

UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT:

St Ives rugby jerseys are supplied by the club.

St Ives shorts and socks and other supporters gear can be purchased from www.xpresspromotions.com.au (click on the St Ives Rugby Club logo) and collected from behind the bar on training nights.

Mouthguards are compulsory for all U8 & up teams and are required for training and games.

CLUBHOUSE

We are fortunate to have a great clubhouse and fantastic facilities upstairs which everyone is welcome to enjoy. Most find it enjoyable to sit upstairs on the balcony on training nights and during games.

New Zealand Tour

Since 1972, St Ives Rugby has been sending Junior Teams on tours to New Zealand. It's a club highlight and over recent years the tours have been made by Under 14s who have visited the Bay of Islands area and Auckland. This year during the September/October school holidays our Under 14s will continue the tradition on what will be an unforgettable trip to the land of the long white cloud.

Touch Judge Course

The club is running a touch judge course for its members on Monday 8^th April at the clubhouse. Touch Judging offers an alternative way of getting involved in the game that can also be very rewarding. There are no age restrictions for touch judges. This is an ideal way for younger people to be involved or for mums, dads, brothers and sisters to help out with the junior games.

REMINDER:

Please remember that the Junior Rugby Committee members are available to help you with any questions or issues, however they are all volunteers who willingly put lots of time and effort into the club and without them there would be no rugby, so please try and work with them wherever possible.

Remember the club also relies on its fundraising events and the running of the BBQ and Canteen during home game matches and therefore we will rely on all parents/caregivers to volunteer to help run the BBQ and canteen and social events at various times throughout the season.

Please take pride in our grounds at Hassall Park and remember it is there for the whole community to enjoy. It is up to ALL of us to ensure the grounds are kept clean after every use.
