St Ives Rugby Club is always interested in new players, and players from overseas are no exception!  St Ives is full of expat South Africans, New Zealanders, English and Welsh players just to name a few.  We are looking to recruit some players for all our teams.

The Club:

St. Ives Rugby Club is a very proud Rugby institution located in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney and has been around since 1956 (view our proud history here).  We play in the NSW Suburban Rugby Union, (Subbies), a union containing 6 divisions whereby clubs are relegated and promoted based on entire the entire club's performance. St Ives is in Division 2.  This year the club finished mid table with two of the five teams winning their premiership and are looking for those few extra players that will take us to the top of the division for potential promotion.

Our teams:

1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, Colts (U21)

The Season:

• Bowral Trip
• Trials
• 18 Week season
• 3 weeks of finals

Visas:

Australia offers working holiday visas to people who hold passports from: USA, Belgium, Canada, the Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, the Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
This visa will allow you to play for St Ives and work at the same time.

Employment:

St Ives Rugby Club is a dedicated amateur club and so cannot offer payment for playing for the club. It is a large community however and as such we can offer jobs to potential players from labouring to bar work and already have a list of 6 jobs that potential players can walk into and not be paid peanuts!

Accommodation and Social Interaction:

Players who come over will be assisted by the Club community to find accommodation in the attractive northern suburbs of Sydney. St Ives boasts as being the most social club in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney and there will be no shortage of opportunity to join in and make some friends with the many members of St Ives Rugby Club, with accommodation likely to be with other St Ives members.
