St Ives Rugby Pre Season Schedule


The 3 Front Row & Tight Five Clinics were all well received by the players and thanks to Charlie Huntington and Mike Spalding for running these.  Closer to season start, look for a refresher session as well.  We will shortly confirm the complete coaching roster and appointments for 2010, but just a few minor changes to the current schedule are:-

Pre Season Training

As mentioned previously, your coaches have designed specific pre-season program, which will be shared amongst your coaches combined with specialist fitness trainer ‘Bruno’ on Saturdays.  Players will have a varied training for all levels of skills as well as fitness.  (a) Tuesday Nights – as Oztag will still be using Hassell Park up to and including 2nd March, we have elected to delay starting club Tuesday training sessions until 7th March. Thursday Nights – starts Thursday 4th February @ 6.45pm, followed by a BBQ after training in the clubhouse.(c) Saturday Mornings – starts Saturday 6th February @ 7.30am, Bungan Beach (Nth end off Myola Rd). The session will be run by professional trainer, Bruno “Mini Me” Schwarzenegger and will incorporate plenty of games and ball work. Great opportunity to show of your beach muscles and start getting fit!

Trials

Saturday 13th March and Sunday 14th March @ Bowral – yes we are returning to Bowral and we will be playing for the Waratah Steel Cup which Saints currently hold.  The following day, the club will also be playing paintball just outside of Bowral, so put both days aside for a great weekend.  Your new social covienor – Piddle will be in touch with further details on the logistics of this weekend.

20th March @ Forest

27th March @ Hassell Park – Saints are hosting a mini-round robin and we trying for a minimum of four clubs on the day for a great hit out before the season starts.

Socials

Following the last trial day (27th March), with the Super 14’s on the box, we will host a Poker Night in the clubhouse and the more the merrier on the night.

Whilst the club will continue with our efforts in the broader community, as happens every year, our best form of recruitment is word of mouth and each of you bringing a mate along for a game – start spreading the word now and let’s get the season off to a flyer!!!!
